Jacob's Pillow presents SDW's debut this summer in Massachusetts!
Sorzano Dance Works will make its Jacob’s Pillow debut this August with a 50-minute program featuring works by choreographer and artistic director Yusha-Marie Sorzano. The performance brings together two full-length pieces and two excerpts from larger works, including the premiere of a new solo performed by Sorzano herself. Blending concert dance and theater, the program examines the roles individuals and communities play within systems of hierarchy. Through a physical language and soundscape that draw from multicultural traditions of the West and the African diaspora, the work invites audiences into a contemporary narrative exploring authority, obedience, and rebellion
