About Sorzano Dance Works

Sorzano Dance Works (SDW) is a project based dance company  and the artistic home of choreographer Yusha-Marie Sorzano. The company’s repertoire focuses on themes of identity, hierarchy and rebellion, with the intention of creating dynamic and riveting expressions of the human experience. In 2023, SDW was commissioned by the Colorado Symphony to bring Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA’s vision to life with A Ballet Through Mud. The following year, Sorzano’s This World Anew premiered as part of The Whitney Museum's Edges of Ailey exhibit– a piece that will see its Jacob’s Pillow debut later this summer. The company will be presented at the 2025 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, performing excerpts from THREAT (2024), Two Women (2021), and full length work To All Our Ends (2018).
